About Me

Hello everyone and welcome to my online portfolio!

“Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.” -John R. Wooden

Fun Fact: At the age of 14, I was chosen to perform in an off-Broadway performance in New York City.

My name is Kayla Kesselman and I am a graduate from West Virginia University. I graduated from the Reed College of Media in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Television and a minor in dance. I also graduated from the Reed College of Media in 2017 with a Master of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC), which is the study of  integrating all promotional tactics aligned with marketing a business.

I was born in Fairfax, Virginia located right outside of Washington, D.C., but I grew up in Bridgeport, WV. Currently, I live in the D.C. area, and I’ve enjoyed getting accustomed to the busy lifestyle that comes along with living in a big city.

Throughout my college career I have become more passionate in the world of media. My freshman year I interned at WWVU-FM 91.7, WVU’s campus radio, where I held the position as a news castor. After further developing my broadcasting skills, I became the head teacher assistant during my senior year of college for WVU News. WVU News is a bi-weekly, Emmy Award winning newscast produced by television students at West Virginia University.

I’ve always been passionate for adventure, and I actually enjoy the pressure of working in a fast-paced environment.  Outside of class, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy reading love novels, coming up with inspiring dance moves, learning new yoga poses and meeting new people.

I hope to someday put my writing skills to use while full-filling a job in a professional setting where I can grow in.
